Vastu for Doors: How to Make the House Entrance Vastu Compliant

Here are the guidelines of Vastu for doors of your house. We have already studied about Vastu Mandala and the corresponding deities on that Mandala. Vastu for door almost completely depends on the location of the door on this Mandala and the corresponding deity. Door or the entrance of the house on different Padas gives different results.

Mainly Vastu gives 36 options for the building of doors or entrances to the house. 9 on each side. These are also called Padas as we already saw in the post about Vastu Mandala.

Among these 36 entrances some are good, some neutral and most bad. So it is necessary to choose the correct Padas for the door to bring in prosperity and health to the inmates of the house. Based on Vastu principles given in the ancient scriptures, below we have mentioned the guidelines of Vastu for doors that you should follow strictly.

  • 3rd and 4th Padas in the East those belong to Jayantha and Mahendra are the most auspicious places to build the entrance for the house.
  • 5th Pada on the East that belongs to Sun can also be an option for building doors for the house entrance.
  • Avoid doors in the 4 Padas present in the extreme South East corners. If doors are constructed here they may cause chronic diseases and sufferings to the inmates.
  • South West is the worst place to construct an entrance for the house or any other structure. This may cause miseries, diseases, financial trouble and death. This is a corner that should be strictly avoided while constructing an entrance for the house.
  • 4th Pada in the South is the only place in the South direction which is auspicious for construction of doors. Doors constructed in other Padas in the South may cause sorrows in physical, mental and financial aspects.
  • Four Padas in the West direction are considered mediocre for the purpose of door construction.
  • 2 Padas in the extreme North West corner neither bring in good luck nor harm you in any way. Door constructed here will give neutral results. Some Vastu experts consider this to be the bad corner for doors.
  • 5th Pada in the North is linked to Kubera. Hence a door constructed here will bring immense wealth and prosperity.
  • If the space in the 5th Pada is not available in the North you can consider 6th or 7th Pada in the North for doors.

Gate and the Main Door Vastu Combinations

There are 4 types of entries mentioned in Vastu based on the relative positions of the gate and the main door. This is based on the positioning of gates and doors and not the directions. But you should also consider directions along with positions when constructing the entrance to the house in the form of gates and doors.

1.Utsanga Entry

This is a type of entry in which the main gate of the compound and the main door of the house are both in the same direction. This is an auspicious condition. This arrangement will bring in prosperity and good luck. Also, your family tree will grow and prosper to unimaginable heights.

2.Purnabahu Entry

Once you enter from the main gate towards the house if the main door is on the right-hand side then that particular entry is called Purnabahu entry. Such entry results in happiness, wealth and growth of progeny.

3.Heenbahu Entry

In this type, the main door lies on the left-hand side once you enter through the main gate. This is not a good positioning according to Vastu. Such entry will cause financial losses, lack of friends and diseases.

4.Pratyakshaya Entry

When the main gate and the main door are in totally opposite directions then such an entry is called Pratyakshaya entry. This is a highly unfavorable position. It can cause sorrows, poverty, and loss of friends.
